Building a Dungeon: The Gear and Toys

Posted in Toys on March 24th, 2011 by WildCuddler

I already posted about getting my dungeon/playroom started, but it takes gear and toys to get one started. It takes a while to get gear and I’ve made mistakes over the years, especially in the maintenance and care of some of it. Hopefully you won’t repeat some of my mistakes.

I tried to organize most of my gear based on use, type and just what I enjoy. There’s a lot of things here, but I’ll try to cover it all.

  1. Bondage Gear
Above is leather mitts, masks (leather and rubber).
Below are restraints. Some are nice padded restraints, while others are actually some neoprene and velcro straps for attaching to cables and lifting. These are great for intro bondage.
Right are various ropes. I’ve never been big on rope bondage, but Daddy has been teaching me some.
There are also some clips there to make bondage much easier
  2. CBT Toys
Behind the number is a humbler and a pressure board. Both are very fun ;)
    Below are just some blindfolds.
  3. Impact Play
Variety of paddles, floggers, and a crop. They all have their various uses…
  4. “Costumes”
That’s really the best word I have for them. It’s a variety of things including uniforms, sports gear and some Halloween costumes.
  5. Gags
A variety of gags for different uses. One that can be used to piss through, a ball gag, and a full mouth gag. There is also a special one just for Daddy to use on me.
  6. Miscellaneous
Just the small things. Mostly implements of torture/pleasure for the nips and balls.
  7. Homemade Spreader Bars
  8. Lubes and Condoms
A variety of lubes. My favorite are the Fire and Ice by Fleshjack and Str8Cam Lube, at least for using with my Fleshjack. The Shaft is a nice water-soluble lube that’s good for cock pumping.
It’s also good to have a variety of condoms because you never know what might happen. Plus I always play safe. It’s good to even use them on toys.
  9. Duct Tape
You never know when duct tape might come in handy with a mouthy boy.
  10. Safety
There’s a First Aid Kit there, as well as some medical scissors and a Gerber multi-tool. It’s good to have things like this on hand because you never know what might happen.
  11. Cock Pumps
I really enjoy pumping my cock, and it’s fun to pump a boy’s cock too. There’s a variety of sizes and lengths. For beginners, find something barely larger than your cock in width. I like the pump with the pressure gauge on it too.

In the drawer below there, I have all my ass toys. It’s best if you can store these so they aren’t touching, and kept away from the lube. This is especially important if you have silicone toys and silicone lube. Also, make sure you get quality ass toys. I recommend silicone or other high quality toys. If you don’t know what materials it’s made of, don’t buy it. I know personally, I have a slight allergic reaction to most rubber-based toys. They essentially cause annoying irritation. If you currently have these, it’s a good idea to use them with a condom.

Not everything fits nicely on the hooks, so I also got a wire shelving unit. Combined with some containers, it works very well. I got plenty of white towels to help clean-up, then be bleached. On top you’ll see a large roll of plastic wrap. I got this for when I moved to Seattle, but I can think of many better uses for it… <eg>

That’s a good chunk of my gear/toys/etc there. If you have any specific questions or comments, wondering where I got something… send me an email or post a comment.

Building a Dungeon: Getting it Started

I finally moved into a house where I could actually have a dungeon/playroom of my own. It’s a rental, so I can’t quite do everything I’d want to, but it’s a nice size room and I’m not sure what else I would use it for.

This is my first time setting something like this up, but I’ll share my experience of doing it with you and as I improve it, I’ll share that too. If you have any questions, let me know. I’ll provide links where possible.

This is the main part of my storage. If you can look past all the gear/toys, here’s what it consists of:

  • A pre-built closet with a hanger bar and drawers
  • 2 – 2′x4′ pegboards spray-painted black mounted using 1x2s
  • Pegboard wire baskets
  • Lots of pegboard hooks (I bought 2 30-piece packs)
  • 5-tier black wire shelving unit
  • Plastic containers
  • Lighting!
  • First Aid Kit

It was all pretty easy to setup and only took part of a day once I had everything. I was lucky with the closet in the room and with a couple modifications it became very useful. If you have a saw and a screwdriver setting up the pegboard is really easy. I just spray-painted it black to look nice. When buying the pegboard hooks, look at the different packages and see what would be useful for you. I really love the baskets.

The hanger bar was nice for hanging some gear. Right now it’s mostly sports gear and some other “costumes”, but I may put some of my leather gear here too. Depending on what you have, this isn’t really a must.

About the only mistake I made here was with the containers. I didn’t really think about what I was going to put in them before I bought them. The smaller ones were much better for most of what I had. I probably could have gotten by without the larger ones.

As with any dungeon too, lighting is important. It can be hot to have it be all dark and dirty, but good lighting can give it a dirty feeling, yet provide enough light for safety, fun and easy picture taking. Who doesn’t like a pic of a hot muscle boy all bound and beaten…

You’ll also notice on the wire rack that there are quite a few towels. Get white ones so you can easily bleach the hell out of them in case any bio-material gets on them. I got a pack of full bath-size towel and 2 packs of smaller towels. The towels really are a must for any dungeon.

The drawers are great for my dildos and other ass toys too. I’ll post a pic of that in my follow-up dungeon gear/toys post.

A First Aid Kit is a required part of any dungeon and kink toy bag

There’s also a first aid kit, which should be part of any kink toy bag or dungeon. I always carry a small one with when traveling and wanted a bigger one for my dungeon. You never know what may happen and it’s a good idea to have something around. Mistakes happen, so plan for them. This one was like $13 at Target.

If you look in the upper-right corner of the main picture, you’ll also see an eye-screw in the wall. There are a couple throughout the room that I can use for a variety of bondage. I’m still working on figuring where all I’ll want them, but they should be nice to have.

I still haven’t used the dungeon yet, but once I do, I’ll let y’all know how it turns out. I’ll also be posting more about all the gear I have in a follow-up post.

I wouldn’t mind any of these boys tied up in my dungeon right now.
