I got a page on Facebook to try to get some more interaction among y’all. I’m sure there will be some other uses for it too. I’ll try to make it more than just a portal to the blog. I’ll see about actually making it an extension of the blog.

Every day we journey through life learning, experiencing and growing. Every now and then we have an opportunity to figure out what’s making us tick. This past weekend I was home in Minneapolis to visit family (I grew up there), and to attend the Bingham Gay Rugby Cup hosted by my home team, the Minneapolis Mayhem.

As I grow older, when I spend time around my family I begin to see and understand why I am the person today. I’ve always known that my family made me into the independent person I am today, but they’ve also helped sculpt my coping mechanisms, social rules and general interests. This weekend was another time to see this and help me to figure out what makes me tick. I’m not going to bore you with the small details, but when you have opportunities like this, take time to look at them from an outside perspective if possible. Understanding why and where you come from can help build you into the person you want to be in the future.

The other portion of this weekend was time spent at the Bingham tournament. There had been a few guys I had chatted with from Facebook and Recon, and wanted to meet up with during Bingham. One was a hottie Facebook friend from California. We had met up almost right away when I got to the tournament. We hung out and actually watched a game that the second guy from the weekend was playing in, which I didn’t realize at the time. We did dinner and eventually made it back to his hotel room.

It was there that I learned a lot about myself. He was more on the vanilla side, and I tried to get him to try the wild side, but he wasn’t very interested. Which I thought would be fine. We made out, we groped each other, licking and sucking everything, but it wasn’t getting my cock going. I was enjoying it and it all felt good, but our mojo wasn’t quite grooving. The groping, making out, holding and getting to know each other continued the next day at the tournament followed by dinner and later that night at the bar. IML 2010 was my 3rd IML and the best one I’ve been to so far. Yes, IML is a sex-filled, heathenistic paradise, but that wasn’t what made it so great. It was all the people that I met, in great part because of Facebook, Twitter and other online sites.

My roommate for the weekend was a sexy beast I’d originally met on BigMuscle, but had never had a chance to meet up with. He’s an awesome guy and we had a lot of fun over the weekend. This is the second time I’ve roomed with someone I’ve never met, and both times it’s turned out great. Maybe I’m just lucky though.

The Vendor Market this year was a little sparse. The booths that were there were great, but many porn studios (outside of the bareback ones) were missing. There were a few others I noticed that were missing too.

The parties this year were just as good as always. Some of my friends threw a CODE party for the first time. It was the only naughty party officially hosted in the hotel. They’re going to be having more at other events over the year too.

Apparently my work at the gym and with my trainer had paid off. I seemed to be getting a LOT more attention this year than past year. I definitely wasn’t complaining. Something I also realized this year is that I’m not that great at getting guys back up to my room. I’m an expert flirter and will do most anything in public, but suck at closing the deal.

IML is my favorite event of the year, and I highly recommend everyone go at some point in time. Even if you’re not big into leather/kink, it’s worth it to experience.

I haven’t tried this yet, but I think I might have to. Awesome thing to do to save money, help the environment, and know what’s in your lube.
